I am an entomologist working in the Centre for Agri-Environmental Research at the University of Reading (UK). My main area of interest is bees, (specialising in the solitary species and bumblebees rather than honeybees). I maintain a database of bee traits of European bees (some 2.5k species), and work on the effects of climate change, pesticide use, alien invasives and landuse change on bee populations and the pollination services they provide.

In my own time, I am Chair of the UK Bees, Wasps & Ants Recording Society (BWARS - www.bwars.com), which aims to bring together all those with an interest in these groups. BWARS is interested in the distributions, ecology and conservation of bees wasps and ants in the UK, and has active links to likeminded groups all over the world
